Bettina Julia Egger self-portrait Bettina Julia Egger started to devote her life to creating comics in 2007, one year after she received a Master's degree in Plastic Arts at the University of Rennes. Fond of drawing super-realism and good at plastic arts using lines, Egger achieved good results for a short time: In 2012, her comic work Le Dragon won a prize at the Lyon International Comics Festival. In 2013, her Moscou Endiablé (Devilish Moscow) was published and awarded the Prize Artémisia 2014. Her works were exhibited in France, Austria and Russia. She also gives guidance to professional and amateur comic courses in universities.
In 2011, Bettina Julia Egger launched the “Frank Zappa in Comics” project, an international organisation for comic artists. With more comic artists joining in this project, the “Frank Zappa in Comics” has gradually attracted public attention. From October 2015 up to now, she continues her PhD study majoring in comics at the University of Salzburg.
